Armours have become part and parcel of today’s world. However, based on the usage and necessity, the armours worn may vary. Thus, depending on the requirement, a person can obtain customised armour clothing.
The great advantage of Customised Armour Clothing:
Armours, once when manufactured are not easy to alter. This is because materials that are used to fabricate them are intricately designed and forged to mould the armour. Hence, even the size of the armour is difficult to change. However, customised armour clothing enables an individual to obtain the armour of his choice, size and even colour. The basic raw materials that need to be used may also be left to the choice of the consumer. This helps in obtaining the perfect armour which will protect the person for his particular need. Consumer friendly Customised Armour Clothing:
Several armour manufacturing companies provide a basic sketch which is similar to a template. Based on the idea provided, a customer may manipulate and change a few characteristics to suit the requirement. The cost of the armour also varies according to the level of protection offered. Hence, if the protective levels needed are very low, the consumer may opt for cheaper armours thus providing them a good value for their money.

Since there are different types of bullet proof vests and vehicle armour, these armours can be custom made on a particular type thus making it easier for the job at hand. Though there are great advantages in customised armour clothing, it’s not such an easy task manufacturing them based on parameters provided by the consumer. The difficulty in manufacturing lies in the forging of different materials to suit the needs of the situation. This is because, armour that is made out of cotton cannot be utilised to protect from a long rifle. Similarly, Type IV bullet proof armour cannot be utilised by a person who has to be protected from a handgun. Hence, these armours are rarely used.
However, in the case of motorcycle armours, the individual parts can be protected based on the user‘s physical structure. In such cases, customised armour clothing help in giving great comfort and flexibility. It also protects any injured segment of the body and secures it with better insulation. Besides protection, fashion sense is also an important part of a sportsman’s career. Hence many racers opt for a particular colour or design based on their franchise. This helps in better advertisements of their sponsor.
Apart from this, the armour can be either soft or hard based on the material used to assemble it. This does not necessarily determine the weight of the armour, as hard armour made out of viscoelastic material is very light.
