Resistant Armour Clothing
Resistant armour clothing is a body cover that protects a person from physical harm such as deadly cuts and wounds. Undoubtedly, resistant armour clothing provides the user a higher rate of survival during battles as it guards the person’s body, head and limbs. The practice of wearing this clothing for protection has been used over the years and is continuously being improved as technology moves forward with groundbreaking advances.
Early Days of Protection
It was during the Vietnam War when the body armour was deemed as an important part of an American soldier’s uniform, even though they were already wearing a body protection suit before they went off to battle. Resistant armour clothing was first described as a metal plate worn in the body to shield themselves from bullets and cuts. Since then, the use of resistant armour clothing during the times of war has been the initial way of protecting the American soldiers.In the older days, people also had a way of guarding themselves; in fact, ever since thousands of years ago, people have been using body armours to protect their bodies from the enemies and wild animals by using thick coverings of animal skin and furs.
The Metal Covering
During the medieval times of kingdoms and colonies, you will find that in the ancient Roman setting, soldiers were used to having their legs and entire body covered with steel and metal plates. In their times, this was the most sophisticated – and effective – way of protecting their body; with the metal and steel used, the resistance to cuts and arrow heads was higher. While it was true that the resistant armour clothing could protect the body better than the earlier style of body armour, the soldierswere still in charge of defending their territory while wearing the metal body covering. From then on, body armours gained extreme importance both in the battlefield and the expansion of territories.
Moreover, the metal covering protection started to change once guns and firearms were invented, and people were forced to create more resistant armour clothing. This led to the use of thicker steel and metal in the different parts of resistant armour clothing, until they were successful in creating new body armour that wasn’t as heavy as the original once (the original ones were too heavy and they slowed the soldiers down).
The Modern Body Armour
With the numerous flaws that were present in the old heavy and thick body armour, engineers in the 1960’s were able to create lightweight resistant armour clothing. They have used materials such as woven fibers and have managed to attach them to the soldier’s clothing, which is now known as soft body armour. In general, the new resistant armour clothing happens to be more comfortable to wear since it is not as heavy as the metal one. Moreover, the new resistant armour clothing is capable of deflecting bulletsand gives the soldiers a higher survival rate.
